A new report titled “Outlook on Future Legislative Aspects for RUSTICA Nutrient Cycles" evaluating important success factors in the EU and Colombia, developed under the responsibility of Wiedemann GmbH, is now available on the RUSTICA project website.

This recently published report identifies key hurdles and opportunities for improving the future marketing of circular fertilising products. It builds upon previous analyses of international and European policies, as well as national and regional stipulations relevant to nutrient recycling.

In addition, the results of the report on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)  — highlighting the importance of CAP Strategic Plans for the RUSTICA project — were integrated into this Outlook, providing a comprehensive view on the policy landscape shaping

agriculture and circular bioeconomy.

THE RUSTICA APPROACH – MORE THAN JUST INNOVATIVE FERTILISERS

The Horizon 2020 Project RUSTICA brought up an array of fascinating results towards bio-based fertilisers in the context of regional circular business models in the European Union and worldwide.

A Global Workshop and the Final Conference in Leuven in November 2024 revealed the broad spectrum of valorization concepts available for leftovers from the agri-food systems by means of the RUSTICA technologies. Since the project encompassed both, technical and non-technical activities: identification of legal and political facts influencing the project constituted a core part of RUSTICA.

As the responsible partner for analyses of legal aspects, Adelheid Wiedemann representing Wiedemann GmbH, informed on her investigations in the RUSTICA project in Leuven, thereby focusing on recent developments and enormous progress in the area of  circular products towards access to the European market.
